Why Oak and Rye

When we lived in Charleston, SC I started making wood decor as a side hobby under the name Wall Art For The Heart (my sister told me it looked like wall art for the fart & I’ll never unsee it🤣).

We moved states, my husband got a new job and I was able to make it my full time job & work from home with my pups, Lola and Harper. Unexpectedly, we lost both of them to cancer & I gave up on my business for a little while.

Fast forward —> We brought home a little golden & named her Oaklee since I love to work with wood (obviously). Two weeks later, her brother was the last pup still waiting for a home… so of course, I needed him too. We named him Barley Rye, which came from my husband’s love for good beer. I got back into what I started & rebranded my business!
We created a new logo with an Oak tree and a bear since I call Barley my big bear & that’s where Oak and Rye Design Co. started ☺️
